The word!

It all begins with a word! Well a word has been stuck in my subconscious for decades and that word is ‘STORY’. This journey began so long ago in Australia and I kept adding to that word along the way - story time, story book, story writing, story reading until finally we came to story telling.

This is a new chapter in my story as I set out on my biggest learning curve ever - a storytelling enterprise called Leanne - Storyteller - facilitator of storytelling for children and adults. I have had to add to my ‘de Bono’ hat collection as I tackle creating a website, blogging and instagramming (haven’t got there yet and you know my love of IT). However I have loved revisiting hundreds of stories in my memory banks and sorting out which are suitable for children or adults. Believe me, some are definitely not for young ears.

I can’t promise that I will blog every day, but I will try weekly. It might be about the books I've read, the new stories I have discovered or written or just where my inspiration has come from for the week. There will definitely be updates on Storytelling sessions and event as they come up. In the meantime, please keep checking in. Follow me on Facebook - Leanne Storyteller (if it is actually up and running) and wish me luck.

And now a quote from Neil Gaiman to inspire you:

Short stories are tiny windows into other worlds and other minds and other dreams. They are journeys you can make to the far side of the universe and still be back in time for dinner.
